Who is William Shakespeare?
Mystery.
William Shakespeare is
somewhat of a mystery. Did he exist? Is the real author using Shakespeare's name
to stay out of the spot light? Many people have mixed feelings about this
because there are no solid records of Shakespeare's education. If not educated,
he could not write all the plays and poetry we love so much.

Marriage.
Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway who was eight years his senior.
At the time of their marriage, Anne was already three months pregnant.
They had a daughter Susanna and twins, Judith and Hamnet.
His only son died during childhood.
Shakespeare lived away in London to work and only came home once a year.
It's believed that he and Anne had an estranged relationship because he left her only his "second best bed" in his will.

Talent.
Shakespeare was looking to find
fame in his poetry, not so much his playwrights.
He is known for his sonnets - most with the theme of how quickly time goes by.
Not only did Shakespeare enjoy being a playwright, he also enjoyed acting and was a shareholder in an acting company. He wrote many comedies when he first started out, then turned to tragedies and
romances later on in his life.

R.I.P.
William Shakespeare's remains have never been disturbed. Why?
Shakespeare had an epitaph over his tomb to keep people from robbing his grave.
It is said to curse any person who tries to rob him.
The verse is: "Good friend, for Jesus' sake forbeare,/ To dig the dust enclose here.
Blessed be the man that spares these stones,/ And cursed be he that moves my bones."
